Trump administration throws additional support behind telehealth

President Donald Trump signed a new executive order Aug. 3 to expand access to telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic, notably in rural areas. The Trump administration also is extending some telehealth services even after the pandemic public health emergency ends. The order is meant to improve connectivity and directs the government to create a joint initiative within 30 days to improve health communication infrastructure and expand rural healthcare services.

Effects of the weight of shoes on calf muscle simulation

The current study investigated the effects of shoes of different weights on calf individual muscle contributions during a running cycle. Twenty male runners ran on a force platform with shoes of four different weights (175 g, 255 g, 335 g, and 415 g). The study evaluated runners’ lower extremity muscle forces under the four shoe weight conditions using a musculoskeletal modeling system.

Choice of intra-articular injection in treatment of knee osteoarthritis: Platelet-rich plasma, hyaluronic acid or ozone options

This study was performed to compare the efficacy of treatment in three groups of patients with knee osteoarthritis given an intra-articular injection of platelet-rich plasma, hyaluronic acid or ozone gas. A total of 102 patients with mild-moderate and moderate knee OA who presented at the polyclinic with at least a one-year history of knee pain and VAS score ≥4 were randomly separated into three groups.
