How to treat painful fat pad atrophy in the foot
Michigan Podiatry
Atrophy of the fat pad on the plantar aspect of the foot is a common condition that affects the heel or the forefoot, often referred to as the "ball" of the foot.

A review of non-invasive sensors and artificial intelligence models for diabetic foot monitoring
Frontiers in Physiology
Diabetic foot complications have multiple adverse effects in a person’s quality of life. Yet, efficient monitoring schemes can mitigate or postpone any disorders, mainly by early detecting regions of interest. Nowadays, optical sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) tools can contribute efficiently to such monitoring processes. In this work, we provide information on the adopted imaging schemes and related optical sensors on this topic.

Standardized classification system for bespoke thermoplastic ankle foot orthoses
The Foot
The first known reference to an ankle foot orthosis (AFO) dates back to 1791 [1], describing a device that looks very similar to the designs we see today, encompassing the foot and ankle and terminating below the fibular head. Unlike today’s devices, it was made from tin. Descriptions of polypropylene AFOs started to appear in the literature in the early 1970s, and is the primary material used in the manufacturer of the majority of bespoke AFOs today.
