Great news from AFFTA
by Ben Bulis, AFFTA General Manager
Our efforts to reach out and add value are growing our membership by leaps and bounds. I've personally made a bunch of visits to specialty retail fly shops, and we've been working hard to communicate better through social media, more email outreach, lots of phone calls and plenty of actual in-person face time. The scorecard doesn't lie — since April 1, we've added 91 new members. IFTD Reno in Reno, Nevada, is just around the corner. This is your chance to make a difference in shaping our industry together for the future and make your business more successful. I hope to see you all in Reno.

Even during these challenging economic times, the outdoor industry has been growing at a steady rate of 5 percent annually. More

Field & Stream    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Sportsmen are wondering why certain House members — who claim to be the sportsmen's voice in Congress — keep pushing to open up oil drilling in some of the nation's most sensitive fishing areas. In a recent interview with Randal Luthi on Environment and Energy TV, Luthi claims that the push by House Republicans to lift the Obama administration's protection from Alaska's Bristol Bay and the coasts off Washington, Oregon, California and Maine is the right thing to do — even though his industry already has access to more than 75 percent of the nation's offshore waters.
