April 19 to 25, 2020 is the Canadian National Volunteer Week. According to Volunteer Canada, about 13 million Canadians across the country generously volunteer, clocking in 160 million of volunteer hours each month. PGO would like to take this opportunity to thank all its volunteers for generously committing their time and sharing their expertise to PGO. They volunteer as active members of PGO Council, statutory committees, standing committees and subcommittees and advisory body. They volunteer as mentors, CPD event speakers and as PGO’s representatives to various tables at provincial and national levels.
Thank you for working alongside staff in ensuring that PGO upholds its mandate of protecting the public and advancing professional practice. Thank you for giving back to the geoscience profession. Finally, thank you for nurturing geoscience students, geoscientists-in-training and newly-minted P.Geo.’s. through mentorship and outreach. Cheers to all PGO volunteers.
