The newest GBA Business Brief -- is free to all members and compiles data from GBA Business Practices Committee's 2018-19 Financial-Performance Survey in a short report, covering key financial-performance issues of surveyed firms.

NV5 Global, Inc. (the "Company" or "NV5") NVEE, -0.11% a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions, announced today that it has acquired GeoDesign, Inc. ("GeoDesign"), a geotechnical, environmental, geological, mining and pavement engineering company with five offices and 91 employees serving Washington, Oregon and California.
GeoDesign's presence throughout the Pacific Northwest complements NV5's strong geotechnical capabilities in California and provides cross-selling opportunities for NV5's large client base in the Power market sector as well as in the Puget Sound region. The acquisition was made with a combination of cash and stock and will be immediately accretive to NV5's earnings.

Haley & Aldrich, an environmental and engineering consulting company, hosted its ninth annual Charity Golf Tournament on June 21, 2019, at the Red Tail Golf Course in Devens, Mass. The sold-out event generated $48,000 to benefit Boston Children’s Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, long-standing Haley & Aldrich clients. After nine years of hosting the golf tournament, Haley & Aldrich has helped raise over $300,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital and members of the Partners HealthCare System.

SANDAG’s Mid-Coast Trolley project recently reached another impressive milestone with the final girder required to form an important track flyover being set in place. In total, 48 pre-cast girders make up the flyover, an elevated portion of the Trolley guideway that goes up and over pre-existing railroad tracks that run along Rose Canyon.

Egypt opened the world’s widest suspension bridge, across the Nile, in what is one of a series of military-led, mega-projects designed to improve infrastructure and provide jobs. At its widest, the bridge has six traffic lanes in each direction and measures 67.3 metres (222 feet) across.
