SHAPE Illinois is also pleased to report that over $200 million of funding for affordable housing grants, loans, and investments was included in the $45 billion capital budget.
Due to the effectiveness of the SHAPE Illinois efforts, all five rent control-related bills introduced in Springfield failed to advance out of committee. Thank you for your efforts!

CAA was successful on measures including emotional support animals, sealed eviction records, rent control, affordable housing during a "historic" legislative session in Springfield. CAA Executive Vice President Mike Mini testified in opposition of the “Fair Work Week” Ordinance at a Committee on Workforce Development hearing on Monday. Click here to review CAA’s testimony regarding the ordinance, which among many of the ordinance’s shortcomings, would require property owners to publish employee schedules with two-weeks’ notice and face fines for revising an employee’s schedule in emergency situations or otherwise. Consider writing your member of City Council regarding this ordinance.

The manager of the Multi-Employer Property Trust has hired Chicago brokerage Moran to sell the 1,061-unit property at 333 E. Ontario St.

Lodge Financial recently closed $2.56 million in loans for two Chicago properties. The buildings are both multifamily properties, one in the North Side neighborhood of West Ridge and the other on the South Side in Bronzeville.
In the first transaction, Lodge secured a $1.42 million acquisition loan for a 12-unit multifamily building in the city’s West Ridge neighborhood.

Waterton has received a $171.2 million loan for the refinancing of North Harbor Tower in Chicago’s Lakeshore East neighborhood. The 600-unit apartment building is located at 175 N. Harbor Drive adjacent to the six-acre Lakeshore East Park. Originally constructed in 1988, the 55-story tower comprises a mix of floor plans averaging 958 square feet. Community amenities include an indoor swimming pool, outdoor sundeck, 24-hour fitness center, party room and library.

Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. announces that it has arranged $171.2 million in financing for North Harbor Tower, a 600-unit, high-rise apartment building in Chicago’s Lakeshore East neighborhood.
HFF worked on behalf of the borrower, Waterton, to secure the seven-year, fixed-rate loan through Freddie Mac’s Green Advantage program. The loan will be serviced by HFF, a Freddie Mac Optigo℠ lender for Conventional Loans.
