(IS-2021-89) Combined Heat and Power and a Changing Climate: Reducing Emissions and Improving Resilience
CABA
This January 2021 report by the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Alliance looked back on the national three-day summit it held in the fall on the role of combined heat and power in a low-carbon future. This report is based on the presentations and discussion by those who attended the event, as well as on previous research and analysis undertaken by the alliance. Key benefits of combined heat and power systems are examined. CHP is a climate change solution because it can both reduce emissions and be a resilient energy resource, reliably providing electric and thermal energy even during severe weather events, the report notes.

TR-069 self-testing tool promises faster connected device certification
BusinessWire
Certifying internet-connected devices for the home as compliant with the industry’s most widely deployed management protocol will become quicker and easier thanks to the approval of the first TR-069 self-testing tool. The enablement of self-testing for TR-069 provides operators and vendors with the ability to perform test procedures themselves that would normally be carried out by a qualifying test lab. It also ensures that vendors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can prove their devices work.

Redefining smart buildings: Focus on the people
RT Insights
Companies must realize that smart buildings can deliver more value in terms of space optimization and employee productivity — beyond reducing energy costs. For example, employers need real-time solutions that help monitor and enforce social distancing of their employees and room-by-room environmental health quality. They also need visitor management systems that do more than log a person in when they enter a facility.
