Join us for the CCMS 2017 Gala!
CCMS is transforming death care education and we invite you to join us! We are excited to welcome each of you to the funeral profession’s event of the year, this coming Saturday, November 18th at Cincinnati’s most sought after venue, the Cincinnati Bengal’s Paul Brown Stadium - East Lounge. This phenomenal setting overlooks the stunning downtown Cincinnati skyline at night.

Our 2017 Gala honor’s the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) President-elect, and CCMS alumnus, Ken Cahall. The evening’s events will be unsurpassed as we join together veteran death care professionals and our newest, up-and-comers. Whether mingling with guests over Hor D’oeuvres and drinks, taking advantage of the meet and greet and photo ops with the BenGal Cheerleaders or the Who-Dey Mascot, or perusing the vast array of silent auction and raffle items, our pre-dinner social is action packed. Following an elegant plated dinner, the formal events of the evening will begin as President Jack Lechner pays special recognition to our guest of honor and unveils the CCMS educational cremation center. Finally, guests can enjoy music and dancing until the evening concludes with the silent auction and raffle bazaar.

While here, plan to make it a weekend in Cincinnati! In addition to Saturday’s Gala, CCMS is hosting an amazing continuing education opportunity on Friday, November 17th. It’s a program that no funeral service history enthusiast will want to miss! This 3 hour presentation merges funeral history with the history of the nation’s first mortuary science educator, the prestigious Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Friday’s event will be presented by funeral historian Todd Van Beck. Immediately following the continuing education presentation, join your colleagues at an evening social. Funeral professionals will network and mingle and enjoy cocktails and appetizers while exploring our beautiful campus and clinical lab complex.

For details on where you can stay while visiting our beautiful city follow the links below.

It’s sure to be a weekend you won’t want to miss!

Registration Deadline Extended
The response to the 2017 Gala has been overwhelming, with registrations still steadily coming in. To ensure all colleagues and friends wishing to attend are able to do so we have extended our deadline to Thursday, Nov. 16 at noon.

Transforming death care education
The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science has always enjoyed a proud history of leading the field of death care education. Our newest initiative is to build and operate a modern Educational Cremation Center on the CCMS campus. Currently, none of our nation’s 60 accredited mortuary science programs have a crematory on campus that is used exclusively for educational purposes. The 2017 Gala proceeds will go directly to funding this initiative. Our cremation complex is just one more exceptional offering for CCMS students, ensuring they are ready to enter the profession fully prepared for their next step in their educational journey, the apprenticeship.
