Clarks America, 1265 Main St
1265 Main Street, Waltham, MA is being repurposed by Clarks Shoes and will serve as their new U.S. headquarters. The 1950's era cast concrete structure was formerly a Polaroid manufacturing campus.

Spalling concrete, corroded steel and large surface air pockets were present, the owners and architects wanted the building to look new. Pre-cast panel manufactures were challenged by providing a uniform consistent finish of the deep colors chosen by the designers.

After the KEIM rep providing several mock-ups a color of Concretal Lasur pigmented stain was chosen for the pre-cast concrete elements. The architect chose the entire KEIM Concretal System for repairing, protection and beautification of the old concrete and added to coat the new GFRC panels of the parapet walls with KEIM Royalan Extreme Weather Mineral Silicate Finish.

Landmark Inn
The Texas Historical Commission awarded the contract for this project to J.C. Stoddard Construction. The contractors have removed most of the plaster from the Vance Hotel, which revealed a thick limestone wall held together by soft mortar joints. The soft, old mortar in the joints between the stones has been chipped out and replaced. A new layer of plaster was applied over the mortar and the limestone. After it dried, the plaster was coated with a special mineral protective coating to provide years of durability.

The goal was to provide a durable, highly permeable coating to protect the restored stucco from the weather and eliminate fade. Also, maintaining the natural moisture balance of the building envelope was crucial.

The KEIM Royalan system was chosen as the coating for the exterior of the property. This was the product utilized due to its weather protection and vapor permeability. The KEIM Royalan Grob was used as a first coat in order to fill hairline cracking in the new stucco.

KEIM Transforms the Le Corbusier's Pavilion

Since the restoration at the end of 2017, Le Corbusier's pavilion has returned to its original colours after 40 years. The pavilion is a prime example of standardised housing units and – typical of Le Corbusier – emphasises the function and thus revolutionised the modern interior – an avant-garde vision of the future in times of increasing urbanisation.   MVRDV's Radio Tower & Hotel for New York Constitutes Colourful Lego-Like Blocks
The arrangement, which looks similar to giant blocks of Lego, is in keeping with the architecture firm's playful style – following on from recent projects that include a reconfigurable hotel and a library shaped like a giant eye. Ceramic bricks in red, green, blue and yellow tones will provide the colours of the facades, which the firm says pays homage to storefronts in the surrounding area.
