Don't let the kids have all the fun, attend a camp for adults
Camps aren’t just for kids these days, and many offer much more than a place to sleep!
For example, here are five camps accredited by the American Camp Association for adults,
families and groups that are sure to please everyone in your pack. Some camps offer hotel-style
accommodations, meals, spiritual programs and services for people with special needs. Gather your team and
get to the great outdoors this summer while still retaining your creature comforts - and be sure to let
Trailways take your group door-to-door. Here are five camps that are a cut above:
Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center - Little Rock, Arkansas
Little Rock, Arkansas is a beautiful city in the heart of the south, not far from mountains and springs,
making it a great location for a summer camp getaway. Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center is one of the
largest camps in the nation and has all the bells and whistles of a classic summer camp experience, such
as hiking, swimming, fishing and more. As a Presbyterian faith camp, the festivities will include bible
studies and stories shared around the campfire. For all ages, the Family Camp is the best option. It’s
designed specifically to be relaxing for adults and fun for kids – so everyone gets what they want!
Adults will especially enjoy the hotel-style rooms that are available in Brown Center, complete with
linens and WiFi. As the staff there is proud to tell you, “Ferncliff is more than a camp, it is a center
of mission and ministry focused on creating a positive difference in the world.”

Camp Aranzazu Inc. – Rockport, Texas
Not every camping experience has to happen deep in the woods. On Copano Bay in Texas, you’ll find
Camp Aranzazu, a fully ACA-accredited camp that is accessible for all. Having fun and experiencing the
ecologically-rich landscape is second nature at Camp Aranzazu since 2006, and they have served over 23,000

yoga, and beach activities like sailing and beachcombing. One thing that makes this camp so special is that
during the summertime, they exclusively host children and adults with special needs and chronic illnesses.
The facilities are fully capable of caring for those in need while also giving them the freedom to
experience camp in whatever way they want. Camping is always a special time to make memories and bond with
others, and your group can share that experience during Spring, Fall and Winter on the gulf coast of Texas.
