TWIC and HAZMAT endorsement fingerprinting

We've been getting some calls recently from members regarding fingerprinting needed for their hazmat commercial driver license renewals, or for their Transportation Worker Identification Credential cards. Though it's possible to just show up at a fingerprinting site, it's highly recommended that you go through a pre-enrollment online and set up an actual appointment. First go to the Universal Enroll website here. Then click on the box for either the TWIC card or the HME (Hazardous Materials Endorsement for your CDL license). Follow the instructions and click on “Next”at the bottom of each page to proceed to the next page. YOU SHOULD ALLOW 4 WEEKS TO PROCESS YOUR FINGERPRINTING. Don’t wait until you get a notice from DMV – if you wait for official notice.

Currently there are only two fingerprinting sites in CT, in New Haven and New London, and one in nearby Springfield, MA. These are run by IdentoGO and are located as follows:

Note: The location is off the corner of Truman St. and Hempstead St. The driving entrance is on Hempstead Street. The location is in a very large brick building with a green roof, and has an oval-shaped parking lot that wraps around the building. Signage on the exterior of the building reflects "OIC". Additional parking, if needed, is on the street. Limited Tractor-trailer parking is available for 1-2 trucks on Hempstead Street (Hempstead Street runs in front of the building). Tractor-trailers should park on the opposite side of Hempstead Street from the building location.
