FMCSA Q&A Webinars for Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
Report by Rick Schweitzer, NEFI Regulatory Counsel (rpschweitzer@rpslegal.com)

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has scheduled a number of live informational webinars designed to help motor carriers understand the requirements of the agency's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. The presentations will focus on the actions Clearinghouse users need to take to comply with the FMCSA regulations and requirements in 49 CFR part 382 subpart G-Requirements and Procedures for Implementation of the Commercial Driver's License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Note, as previously reported, all employers must conduct the required annual query of CDL drivers under the FMCSA's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (DACH) by January 5, 2020.

The annual query may be a limited query, which merely asks whether there is any information about the driver in the DACH database. If the limited query turns up information on the driver, then the employer must conduct a full query to review the information on the driver in the database. A CDL driver must register with the Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent to a full query, but electronic consent is not required for a limited query.

Interested persons may select the session most relevant to them and register using one of the links below. Because space is limited, FMCSA requests that you register for only one session. A recording of the webinars will be available on the Clearinghouse website at a later date.
