Cost of hydrogen fuel cells may soon drop due to catalyst breakthrough
Hydrogen Fuel News
When it comes to hydrogen fuel cells, cost is a major issue that often determines whether these energy systems are used or abandoned in favor of less expensive alternatives. Indeed, the high cost of hydrogen fuel cells has prevented these energy systems from finding any significant traction beyond the auto industry, and cost may be what leads to the potential failure of that industry's strong focus on these energy systems. The expensive nature of hydrogen fuel cells is due largely to the materials that are used in their development, the most expensive of which can be found in the catalysts that fuel cells use to operate.

Hydrogen fuel continues to win favour of BMW Manufacturing
Hydrogen Fuel News
Plug Power, a leading developer of hydrogen fuel cells, and BMW Manufacturing, automaker BMW's manufacturing division, have been enjoying a powerful partnership recently. Plug Power recently delivered a number of hydrogen fuel cells to BMW Manufacturing, where these energy systems were put to use in forklift trucks and other such materials handling vehicles. This was meant to move BMW Manufacturing away from the use of fossil-fuels, and this endeavor seems to be working very well as the company continues to order new hydrogen fuel cells to meet its needs.

Denmark simplifies hydrogen infrastructure by installing a fueling station in only 48 hours
Digital Trends
Copenhagen has officially received 15 of the Hyundai iX35 production fuel-cell cars for its municipal fleet, as the city attempts to go "carbon-neutral." Before it could start running the new-gen green cars around the city, though, it had to have a fueling station. The city solved that problem by installing its first hydrogen station in just 48 hours, 36 of which were allocated for fuel compression.

U.S. trails in building hydrogen-car fueling stations
Chicago Tribune
Hyundai Motors recently rolled out the first 15 of its hydrogen-powered ix35 sport utility vehicles headed to Copenhagen. Europe has it for this kind of demonstration; the U.S. does not.

Solar energy growing rapidly in Massachusetts
Hydrogen Fuel News
According to the new data released by RevoluSun, solar energy installations in the residential sector have more than quadrupled from 2010 to 2012. The company suggests that part of this growth is being powered by the financial incentives being offered by Massachusetts. These incentives have proven attractive to state homeowners that are becoming more environmentally conscious. For these people, solar energy is quickly becoming an adequate solution to many of the problems they face in terms of energy consumption and could help derail the effects of climate change.
