If Jordan Morrison needed a test of his rebuilt leg, he could probably have found a gentler one than the tactical exercises he's being put through now. "We've been doing ground takedowns," the 20-year-old Naughton native said from Peterborough, where he's enrolled in a course to become a park warden. "It's self-defense and use-of-force training, so I'm getting tossed around and beat up."

Humber River Hospital's digital revolution

And that 180-metre-long entrance hall to the new Humber River Hospital — the blue behemoth of a building that's been rising north of Highway 401 at Keele St. — will function like a departures gateway as well. Patients arriving by car will drive along the fronting roadway until they come to the door they need.

ACL knee injuries — an ounce of prevention is priceless

A major injury prevention position statement released by the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine (CASEM) and published in the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine (CJSM) concludes that youth soccer players and their coaches can significantly decrease the incidence of ACL injuries by incorporating neuromuscular training (NMT) into their warm-up routines.
