The Memorial Park Project revitalizes a community space in Cupertino

San Clemente launches outreach, new subcommittee looking at sand erosion issues

San Clemente is ramping up efforts to find sand solutions for its quickly eroding beaches, an ongoing problem threatening the coastal town’s valuable resource and recreation space.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a project 20 years in the planning gearing up in San Clemente, with work expected to start this fall to add 250,000 cubic yards of sand between Linda Lane and T-Street beaches.

More pickleball courts coming soon, starting at DeForest Park, city says

By sometime this spring, Long Beach should have dozens more courts available for pickleball, the social sport that’s exploded in popularity in recent years. Some city facilities will have existing tennis courts restriped so either sport could be played, and at least two sites—DeForest and Veterans parks—will gain dedicated pickleball courts in the next couple of months, city Parks, Recreation and Marine Director Brent Dennis said.

NOR Parks District's 'Robots 4 Tots' event coming to Oildale

he North of the River Recreation and Park District is preparing to host the annual Robots 4 Tots event at the Riverview Community Center.
For 13 years, the Robots 4 Tots program has introduced preschool-age children in the Oildale community and their families to robotics and other STEM concepts.
