Cashless Systems at Swim Centers
I am researching if there are any cashless payment systems for swim centers?
We are looking for system or machine where swim patrons can come to a swim center and pay for programs ( i.e. lap swim, 10 swim cards , BAM or other swim programs, ) by using a ticket dispensing machine, they can pay by credit card or cash? Is any swim center using such a system or something similar? We want a system where there is no exchange of cash between the swim center staff and the patron.

Parks are transforming South County, making it healthier
Times of San Diego

Working with numerous cities and agencies, the County of San Diego has built a robust network of regional parks and amenities that provide countless ways for families to exercise and to enjoy our precious natural habitats and thriving wildlife.

Open Space Measure AA backers declare victory in $300 million bond measure
San Jose Mercury News
Environmentalists and park lovers declared victory Monday in a closely watched battle over a ballot measure aimed at providing a cash infusion for Silicon Valley open-space projects in the region's race against sprawl. Measure AA — a $300 million bond measure that will help the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District build more trails, preserve redwoods and buy more pristine land — needed a two-thirds majority. And it now appears inevitable that it will squeak through, backers said.

The flying parks, from Highline in New York to Promenade Plantée in Paris
Landscape Architects Network
A park is by definition a green area — usually at the ground level, beside streets and buildings — that offers people an outdoor place for spending time with friends or by yourself. But what happens when parks are elevated from the ground as happened at the Promenade Plantée and the Highline?

Cities need nature
The Huffington Post
We humans have an intrinsic emotional need to connect with nature. Yet cities also, and fundamentally, need the structure of hardscape urbanism — streets, buildings, and infrastructure — in sufficient density to achieve environmental and economic efficiency and nurture social bonds. It is critical that we incorporate nature into cities, but we must do so in a way that supports urbanity rather than replaces it.
