John De Lorenzo asks, "Does anyone have a co-sponsorship policy by which the co-sponsor of an event or activity with your agency gets fees waived for use of your facilities? If so, can you send me a copy of that policy to jdelorenzo@ambroserec.org or describe what criteria must be met to qualify as a co-sponsored event and thus to have fees waived. Thanks." A closer look at why child obesity rates may be falling
USA Today
If the USA is starting to get a handle on childhood obesity, as federal health officials said, what might we finally be doing right? Three trends are being held up by health experts as encouraging developments: programs to get kids to exercise more, such as first lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign; an increase in breast-feeding; and improvements in the nutritional content of foods provided to low-income women and children by the federal government.

After Wilsonville, Hillsboro bee deaths, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District looks to create pollinator haven
The Oregonian
June was a bad month for Oregon bees. First, an estimated 50,000 bees died in that parking lot after trees were sprayed with Safari, an insecticide used to control aphids. Then, just days later, hundreds of bees were found dead under a linden tree in downtown Hillsboro. The tree also had been treated with Safari, though the Oregon Department of Agriculture has not yet confirmed the cause of the Hillsboro bee deaths.

How to be more productive and creative at work? Play more
Good.com
Scientists say there are two main reasons we play: first, it's preparation. It allows us to practice skills that we will need in a safe environment where we can fail with few consequences, so we can apply those skills when they are really needed. Bears in the wild who play as cubs have a much higher survival rate than those who don't. Play is also necessary for brain growth.
