Children didn’t wait for the ribbon cutting of the new Palermo Park playground.
They showed up hours, and in some cases days, before the 11 a.m. official opening Saturday to try out the new swings, slides and dinosaur mounts.
Taking more than two years to be completed, the finished project was unveiled to the public during the 10th annual Palermo Community Festival.

Woodson hikers, discussed the need for a more fluid Ramona Community Protection and Evacuation Plan, and tabled consideration of exempting a display of low-income manufactured homes from a site plan review process at their Sept. 5 meeting.

Napa Valley Register
A team of volunteers has helped tend to one of Napa’s larger parks for the past year, and the city is hoping to see similar groups step up on behalf of its other recreational spaces.
Since the fall of 2018, Westwood Hills Park has been the scene of work parties where residents have organized to remove invasive and flammable plants from the heavily wooded preserve in west Napa.

The 39th annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night, a community picnic honoring first responders sponsored by Pacific Beach Town Council, will be Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Rotary Pavilion, 3700 Corona Oriente Road in North Crown Point Shores.
Featured first responders this year are the City’s park rangers and park maintenance staff serving the beaches and PB parks.
