Important deadline Jan. 31
Conference room host committee is seeking volunteers for half-day assignments. Sign up on a first-come, first-served basis. For every half-day worked, you will receive complimentary attendance to your choice of educational sessions and the exhibit hall as scheduled. Volunteer shifts require that you serve as a room host and/or provide support services to the program committee. CPRS members who submit a volunteer application prior to Jan. 6 will be given priority for volunteer shifts.
Example of Room Host duties:
Greet session chair & speakers, prepare room for audio-visual use
Introduce speaker (that means using the microphone at the head table)
Collect evaluation & CEU forms, sign training track forms
Assist with the logistics of providing a pleasant & valuable experience for conference attendees.
Provide information to conference attendees while at the convention center
Greet attendees and speakers and provide directions to check-in areas

National Parks Traveler
Outdoor recreation's impact on the U.S. economy will be tracked by the government for the first time, providing information for Congress to make "sound environmental and recreational policies," if a bill sent to the president last week is signed into law. The bipartisan legislation, which passed both chambers of Congress by unanimous vote last month, directs the federal government to measure the outdoor industry's annual contributions to the U.S. economy, estimated to be $646 billion by one industry group.

Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals Conference Scholarship Opportunities
2017 National Outdoor Recreation Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, from May 1-4.
SORP will be awarding Student and New Professional Conference Scholarships to attend the 2017 conference.
