Looking forward, there are great opportunities in 2015 and beyond for CPRS to demonstrate international leadership and significantly raise the profile of the public relations profession and the organization.

La SCRP continue d'être une association professionnelle forte et efficace grâce à vos efforts, à votre dévouement et à votre engagement. Les dirigeants bénévoles de tout le pays se sont engagés à partager l'information et les idées quant à la façon d'améliorer les avantages et services offerts aux membres, ce qui devient évident lors des réunions du Conseil des présidents des sociétés locales, des rencontres des divers comités et conseils nationaux et dans les liens qui se tissent entre ces diverses personnes.

Start your 2015 year by looking back at the impressive work you did in 2014. Consider submitting your best work to the 2015 CPRS National Awards of Excellence. Winners will be recognized at the CPRS National Awards Gala in Montreal in conjunction with the SQPRP Awards Dinner. The Deadline to submit is March 9, 2015.

Nominations for the CPRS Major Awards are due on the same deadline as the Awards of Excellence. Nominate a peer who you think is deserving of CPRS' top awards for professional achievement! You can view all award categories online.

Débutez votre année 2015 en jetant un coup d'œil à vos réalisations de 2014. Songez à soumettre vos meilleurs projets en vue des Prix nationaux d'excellence 2015 de la SCRP. Les lauréats seront reconnus au Gala des Prix nationaux de la SCRP, qui aura lieu à Montréal conjointement avec la remise des prix de la SQPRP. La date limite est le 9 mars 2015.

Engagement + Impact 2015 Special Rate Extension

The conference registration Special Rate deadline has been extended to Friday, Jan. 30, 2015. Next week, CPRS National will announce the professional development workshops selected for the Montreal conference. A high volume of top-notch presentations were submitted to the National Office, and workshops that best fit the needs of Engagement + Impact 2015 will be selected.

Public Relations Knowledge (PRK)Ⓡ Exam — January 24
CPRS
The first exam date in 2015 for the PRK exam is Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. Registration will close on Wednesday, Jan. 21. There will be a PRK webinar on Friday, Jan. 16. Passing this exam is tangible evidence of your public relations knowledge and appearing on the website of the Canadian Public Relations Society as a successful exam writer, along with your résumé, is a valuable tool to assist you on your career path. CPRS membership is not required to write the PRK. It is open to everyone whether you are a student, a recent graduate, or a new entrant to the public relations profession.

Samsung has hired Good Relations to oversee corporate and B2B PR in the U.K. and Ireland. The appointment follows a competitive review. Good Relations joins an agency roster that already includes Red Consultancy and Kazoo, who each handle specific consumer PR duties. In addition to overseeing corporate PR, Good Relations will aim raise awareness of Samsung’s B2B solutions and build its profile as a credible business technology leader.

TV anchor Leslie Roberts' ethical breach 'unheard of' in PR industry

It came as a shock to many when Global Television news anchor Leslie Roberts was suspended. No one expected to see one of the preeminent faces of the Toronto news scene and three-decade veteran of the craft suddenly brought to his knees by allegations of unethical double-dipping.
