2015 Awards of Excellence Winners announced
CPRS
CPRS is proud to announce the winners of an industry-wide awards program recognizing outstanding public relations (PR) programs, the CPRS Awards of Excellence. Twenty-three organizations won 34 awards in 13 communications categories. Winners will be celebrated in Montreal, Quebec on Tuesday, June 2 as part of a joint Awards Gala with the local CPRS Quebec Society, La Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques (SQPRP). Global Alliance seeks candidates for its Executive Board
Global Alliance
The Global Alliance (GA) seeks senior leaders in the profession to fill nine positions on its international Executive Board. The GA Nomination Committee notice is due tomorrow — May 7. Passionate and experienced public relations and communications professionals can be nominated by a peer or self-nominate. The GA Nomination Committee notice has more information on the process and eligibility requirements for candidate hopefuls. The Board will be elected at the 2015 Global Alliance AGM in Milan, Italy, June 26-28, 2015.

Canadian Public Relations Text available at CPRS National Conference

The recently published text, Foundations of Public Relations and Marketing Communications in Canada, will be available at the University of Alberta Press exhibitor booth at the Engagement + Impact public relations conference in Montreal from May 31 to June 2 or through the CPRS website with a 20 per cent member discount. CPRS member William Carney edited the book along with Leah-Ann Lymer. Contributors to the book included CPRS members Colin Babiuk, APR, FCPRS; Ange Frymire Fleming, APR, FCPRS; Mark Hunter LaVigne, APR, FCPRS; Sheridan McVean, APR; David Scholz; and Amy Thurlow, PhD, APR.

PRK Exam registration closes next week

Registration for Canada's only standardized public relations exam closes on Wednesday, May 13. The exam will be written by recent PR graduates and those new to the profession on Saturday, May 16 in locations across Canada.
