Longtime members recognized by CPRS
The Canadian Public Relations Society recently recognized the achievement of a number of members from across Canada for their commitment to the Society. At the 2015 CPRS National Conference in Montreal this past May, David Annesley, APR LM (CPRS Calgary) and Jean Cormier, APR LM (CPRS Vancouver) were honoured with 50-year Membership Certificates. A CPRS member from each local Society accepted the certificate on their behalf. In 2015, 12 CPRS members were given distinction of CPRS Life Member. Life Members are honoured with Life Membership by their Member Society for their contribution both to public relations and the Society. Here are the 2015 new CPRS Life Members:

Canadian PR texts available through CPRS
Recently launched at the CPRS National Conference in Montreal, Fundamentals of Public Relations and Marketing Communications in Canada is now available to CPRS members at a discounted rate on the CPRS website. The book sold out onsite and more copies have been made available. The text was edited by CPRS member and CPRS Lamp of Service recipient William Carney and contributors to the text include a number of CPRS members.
Another prominent PR text with a CPRS member as an editor is Public Relations Case Studies from Around the World by Jean Valin APR, FCPRS LM. Peter Lang Publishing is offering the text to CPRS members at a discounted price.

Manuels canadiens de relations publiques disponibles par la SCRP
Récemment lancé dans le cadre de la Conférence nationale de la SCRP de Montréal du 31 mai au 2 juin, le manuel Fundamentals of Public Relations and Marketing Communications in Canada est maintenant offert à prix réduit aux membres de la SCRP sur le site de la SCRP. Le manuel est rédigé par le membre de la SCRP et lauréat de la Lampe emblématique de service de la SCRP William Carney et parmi les contributeurs de ce manuel, on dénombre plusieurs membres de la SCRP.
Un autre manuel de relations publiques important a été rédigé par un membre de la SCRP : il s'agit de Public Relations Case Studies from Around the World, par Jean Valin ARP, FSCRP LM. L'éditeur Peter Lang Publishing offre un rabais sur le prix d'achat de ce manuel aux membres de la SCRP.

Brix Media launches Canada's first PR and online influencer marketing firm focused on social innovation
Jennifer Maloney Adab, former co-founder of Yulu Public Relations, recently announced she and her team have launched Brix Media, Canada's first fully integrated PR and online influencer marketing agency focused on servicing tech, startup, business and lifestyle brands that benefit society.

TMX Group sells financial communications business Equicom to National Public Relations
National Public Relations is buying Equicom, an investor relations and financial communications firm owned by TMX Group.
The transaction, which builds on the public relations firm's financial communications business in Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal, includes a multi-year referral agreement with TMX Group.
