Lockheed prepping to demo 'scaled EA' capability at RIMPAC
Breaking Defense
Lockheed Martin is poised to demonstrate an offensive electronic warfare capability scaled for smaller vessels in the coming weeks during the international Rim of the Pacific exercise onboard a U.S. Navy ship, a company official told Breaking Defense.
The capability, which Lockheed and the Navy are calling “scaled EA,” or electronic attack, is being flown into Hawaii this week for installation onboard the ship, according to Joe Ottaviano, an executive at Lockheed overseeing its electronic warfare programs.

Report to Congress on Air Force Next-Generation Air Dominance

According to the Air Force, the Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program is intended to develop “a portfolio of technologies enabling air superiority.” The Air Force intends for NGAD to replace the F-22 fighter jet beginning in 2030, possibly including a combination of crewed and uncrewed aircraft, with other systems and sensors. NGAD began as a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency project. Since 2015, Congress has appropriated approximately $4.2 billion for NGAD.
