Thank you from across the pond — DEPS Executive Director, Mark Neice
A big thank you to all the participants in last week’s UK/US Workshop at RAF Shrivenham. The theme quickly became one of collaboration between the two governments. DEPS saw record attendance (260 registrants), and there was tremendous networking that occurred during the week.
I would like to personally thank our program committee: Professor Martin Hubbard, Mr. Kevin Burrett, Dr. Nick Morley & Mr. Ryan Hoffman for their leadership in developing an outstanding technical program, and to all the session chairs who led their respective sessions. I also want to call out the exceptional service from Mr. Danny Stewart, Ms. Renee Cousins and Ms. Bella Elrick from the AFRL for their support in handling the security aspects of this workshop. It doesn’t happen without them!
DEPS looks forward to supporting this event again in 2024.

Noisecom noise generators and standalone noise sources can address the critical needs of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) reduction by driving coherence spreading to minimize retroflected scattering, allowing for high optical power transmission. Coherence spreading using a random noise source reduces each laser module’s sharp waveform (peak power) by modulating the phase of the laser.
