Were you last certified in 2015? If so, you are due to renew this year. We began accepting applications for certification renewal by CE on Feb. 1, 2018; the deadline is Nov. 1 (to accrue CE and file on time).

Rep. Gina McCabe, R-Goldendale, shepherded her House Bill 2101, 2951 and 1539 through the legislative process and onto the desk of Gov. Jay Inslee this session. The Criminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill, 2018, seeks to add section 376-AA in the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which will be defined as: “Punishment for rape on a woman up to twelve years of age. ..."

Survey of Sexual Victimization: Affected public who will be asked or required to respond, as well as a brief abstract: Primary: State, Local, or Tribal Government correctional facilities. Other: Federal Government and business (privately operated correctional institutions, both for-profit and not-for-profit). The data will be used to develop national estimates of the incidence and prevalence of sexual assault within correctional facilities, as well as characteristics of substantiated incidents, as required under the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003.

On Monday, France’s Equality Minister Marlène Schiappa announced that after public consultations, and based on the recommendation of a panel of experts, the French government will move to set the age of sexual consent to 15.
The decision follows two high-profile cases involving adult men allegedly having sex with 11-year-old girls.

A recent audit of law enforcement agencies across Oklahoma revealed nearly 7,000 untested sexual assault and rape kits. The Lawton Police Department had just over 200, Duncan had 44, and Altus had 38 untested kits.
Public Information Officer Timothy Jenkins said the department has 207 untested rape kits. Those numbers were submitted to the Oklahoma Task Force on Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence.
