Ukraine: How forensics teams will investigate evidence of atrocities at Bucha
The Conversation
Forensic investigators are reportedly already at work in Bucha, northwest of Kyiv, where grisly evidence has been found that could point to war crimes committed by Russian troops during their occupation of the area.
Journalists brought in by Ukrainian troops who have retaken various towns around the capital have been shown bodies of civilians with their hands tied, apparently executed, as well as evidence that women were raped before being murdered. If confirmed, this would be evidence that the Russian forces committed war crimes. It will be up to the investigators to determine this.

Restorative justice for survivors of intimate partner violence
Hopkins Bloomberg Public Health
Less than half of intimate partner violence incidents are reported to law enforcement, demonstrating that many IPV survivors don’t see the criminal justice system as the answer to their problems. In fact, many IPV survivors believe that involving law enforcement would only worsen their troubles. They fear retribution from both abusive partners and community members for calling the police to their neighborhood. They worry about eviction, or losing the financial support of a jailed partner. And they wonder whether they can trust law enforcement not to hurt, or even kill, their abusive partner.
But until recently, little research has been done on the kind of justice IPV survivors wanted instead.

Men still think child sexual abuse victims may be exaggerating, according to new national survey from the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center
The Barbara Sinatra Children's Center via Cision
Despite all the awareness and advances made over the past few years by the #MeToo movement on gender-related sexual abuse, when it comes to child sexual abuse men are still somewhat oblivious.
Indeed, a new survey from the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center – a national research, treatment and programming center dedicated to ensuring every child has a right to a normal, healthy and secure childhood – has found that of all the respondents who think victims are exaggerating their childhood experience of sexual abuse, three-quarters are men. In fact, men are three times more likely than women to believe that the problem of child sexual abuse is exaggerated and that the victim is motivated by money, and two times more likely than women to feel that the survivor has recovered just fine from the abuse.

At small and rural hospitals, ransomware attacks are causing unprecedented crises
STAT
At 12:08 p.m. on a Monday, a Sky Lakes Medical Center employee tapped an email link.
Within minutes, that click cracked open the Oregon hospital’s digital infrastructure for cybercriminals to infiltrate. By the time IT staff started looking into it, “everything was being encrypted,” said John Gaede, director of information services. On a note discovered in a server, the attackers announced the 100-bed Klamath Falls hospital had been hit with ransomware.
