A recent report from the Associated Press found some truly horrifying statistics about sexual violence in grades K-12.
The investigation explored state education records using federal crime data between 2011 and 2015. The AP uncovered a total of 17,000 official reports of student-on-student sexual violence in grades K-12 in those four years.

Queensland Governmemt
Researchers are studying an Australian first 24/7 social work service at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) Emergency Department, which is helping domestic violence victims.
Health and Ambulance Services Minister Cameron Dick said the hospital’s Emergency Department was the only ED in the country providing a dedicated social work team around the clock.

As the number of fentanyl overdoses in America climbed last fall, the New Hampshire State Police Forensic Laboratory released a photo to highlight the drug’s particular dangers. The photo showed two vials. One showed how big a lethal dose of heroin might be: 30 milligrams, a small scoop. The second showed the equivalent for fentanyl: 3 milligrams, a bare sprinkle.

Stealthing = sexual assault.
That is the gist of new legislation proposed by a Wisconsin lawmaker that would classify stealthing — the act of removing a condom during intercourse without a partner's consent — as sexual assault.
Rep. Melissa Sargent said "this is clearly a sexual crime."

He was a quality technician in the fabrication shop at a handful of mills, most recently at AK Steel, where he worked in this economically depressed region of southern Ohio until his employer laid off more than 600 people.

Tribal Forensic Healthcare
Access to healthcare after sexual assault can be critical to survivors beginning the healing process and to prevent long term health consequences. Reporting the assault to law enforcement should not be a barrier to accessing this care. In 2005 the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) stated that victims of sexual assault must be provided access to a medical forensic exam free of charge and without being required to cooperate with law enforcement or participate in the criminal justice system. Practical implementation of these options when working with multiple jurisdictions can be difficult without collaboration between community responders.
