Commitment to America’s Health: A Consensus Statement from the Nursing Community was signed by 52 of the coalition’s members. The statement and the Senate bill and the summary of the bill can be read here.

New measures to protect women and girls from crimes committed overseas will be included in legislation on domestic abuse, the government has said.
The new legislation would allow the UK to ratify the Council of Europe’s convention on preventing and combating violence against women, known as the Istanbul Convention.

Brigham Young University is changing school policy so that students who report being victims or witnesses to sexual assault will not be punished for related honor code violations, such as drinking or using drugs.
The school announced the policy, saying it wanted to encourage students to report sexual assaults.

Drought in a developing country can mean many things: a lack of water, a lack of food and nutrition, and a lack of economic growth that puts even more pressure on impoverished communities relying on farming for their livelihoods. For women and girls, it also means a lack of protection. In Africa, women do 90% of the work of gathering water and wood.
