Absence of anogenital injury in the adolescent/adult female sexual assault patient
National Sexual Violence Resource Center
Share

Documentation from sexual assault medical-forensic examinations will often note that no injury was found to the female
genitalia or anus. Rates of sexual assault injury vary widely in published reports and may be impacted by a variety of issues,
including the types of techniques used to assess the patient and the amount of time between the assault and the exam. The
absence of anogenital injury does not mean that a sexual assault didn't occur. Anticipating the circumstances when injury
will be identified is a challenge.

A village rape shatters a family, and India's traditional silence
The New York Times
Share

As in many countries, silence often follows rape in India, especially in villages, where a rape victim is usually regarded as a shamed woman, unfit for marriage. When everyone is silent: Reparation for survivors of wartime rape in Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Amnesty International
Share

Bosnia and Herzegovina is still struggling with the legacy of crimes committed during the 1992-1995 war. One of the least visible injustices is the ongoing failure to provide survivors of wartime rape and other forms of sexual violence with the reparation they desperately need. In the Republika Srpska, the true extent of sexual violence during the conflict has never been fully acknowledged by the authorities or society more broadly. Survivors are not recognized in law and their needs are not being met in practice. The authorities must move to meet these needs.
