Members of Congress have returned to Washington for the final legislative push of this 112th Congress. Much of their work focuses on fiscal and budgetary issues but IAFN is making a push to encourage action on reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Please take a moment this week to call or email your two Senators and your Representative in the Congress.

A recent report from the report Bureau of Justice Statistics presents data on nonfatal intimate partner violence among U.S. households from 1993 to 2010. Intimate partner violence includes rape, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault by a current or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend.
