Architecture and fashion are big inspirations for my design work, as well as nature. One plays off of the others. A blank canvas is just that, whether it is an outfit, a room or the outside of a building. The outfit must be finished with accessories like shoes, a handbag and jewelry. The room within a home is finished with fine furnishings of pillows, throws, lighting and drapery. Finally, a building is finished by beautiful landscape that is to scale. Great design is all in the details.

Winner: Chris McKenry, Closets by McKenry, Tennessee
While designing the stunningly organized master closet, the home owners needs were considered, as well as the craftsman style of the home. The footprint of the master bath and closet was flipped for this remodel, giving a larger bath where two small closets once were, and the new master was expanded into a large 175 square-foot room where the bath was located.
Our current working life has seen a change over the past week. We have reached out to some designers who excel in home office design for some advice on how to set up your work from home space for productivity, normalcy and, of course, comfort. Here is what they had to say.

Business of Home
If you're a fan of old films and their interiors, one of the joys of curling up with a good movie is the chance to see how people lived way back when. Whether it's a real oldie from the 1930s or something a bit less aged — from the 1950s or even the early '60s, the homes all invariably have one common element: wallpaper.

Home is where the heart is, but for those carrying out our jobs remotely, as of late, home is also where our office is.
For many, this unplanned relocation has meant answering emails sitting cross-legged on a couch, laptop on the lap. In the grander scheme of things, it's a minor discomfort which is, at times, amusing — being unintentionally introduced to your colleague's children via Zoom calls or realizing that your fantasies of a full-time remote gig were completely misguided.

This week's edition of House Calls takes us to San Francisco, California, where Bay Area architecture and design firm Framestudio carefully restored a midcentury ranch home to its former glory.

People have different taste in interests for decorating their homes. Some like to be aesthetically pleasing, others like to be more creative; some love to be trendy, others take interest on being incredible and some being traditional. According to the zodiac traits, people have different preferences for home decor. But some zodiac signs also don't like to be creative with the design and some don't care of the home decor at all.

The 20th century in the design world was a period of new ideology on building form, material explorations and, ultimately, the emergence of the modern architecture movement as we define it in the present day. The expression and experimentation of architects in this era resulted in interior spaces that are now considered to be "classics" due to their relevance and their long lasting effects that they have on the architectural discourse.
