CALL FOR CASTING CO-HOSTS - INTERIOR DESIGN EXPERTS & REAL ESTATE EXPERTS
Relativity Television is seeking the next big name in interior design to co-host a new series! It's from the creator of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," and couples will compete in a series of renovation challenges to win a house! This is for a major broadcast network … straight to series...airs in July!
IDEAL CO-HOST CANDIDATES
- Impressive credentials that qualify the designer or agent as an expert beyond simply being a paid professional (for instance*, running a top firm, awards, notable speaking engagements, recognized by reputable media/publications, featured TV appearances, etc.)
- Big, bold, interesting, dynamic and/or sassy personality and a strong point of view!
- On-camera experience is helpful, but not required
*These are simply for a point of reference and not necessarily the specific accolades a designer or agent needs to have. We welcome people to convince us they are the do-all end-all of design or real estate!
A NOTE ABOUT LOCATION: It films in Atlanta, GA, for two months, starting late May, but my understanding is that the design talent will only have two shoot days each week. They do not need to be based there.
TO APPLY: Email Gina Marks (Casting Producer, Relativity Television) at gina.marks@rtvshows.com with brief description of background/career highlights and areas of expertise, contact information, a photo, website and links to any video if available. Also, include a brief note about why you are the best choice for this opportunity!

The Top 5 Issues Affecting Interior Design Today
Inhabitat
Interior design is undergoing its most drastic transformation since the sustainable design revolution of the 1990s. Advances made in creative methods, the application of data, neuroscience and health, and building performance are demanding new interior design leadership. Designers who have mastered the skills to create functional and beautiful spaces are reshaping the interior landscape, from historic preservation and adaptive re-use to innovation in newly constructed spaces to meet the needs of changing working-and-living prototypes. So what's next for interior design? Here is a list of the top five game-changing issues affecting the industry today.
Step Inside Coco Rocha's Vibrant, Stylish Nursery
ELLE Decor
Nurseries are inherently dreamy spaces—imaginative and full of anticipation—but it can be tricky to balance the playful pieces with all the practical stuff. Never ones to shy away from a design challenge, we leapt at the chance to create a stylish, clever, and übercomfortable nursery for supermodel Coco Rocha's first child, daughter Ioni, who arrived on March 28. Getting down to business (there's nothing like having a due date for a deadline!), our design wiz Alex Reid set about designing a nursery that felt right at home among the Pop art, modern collector's pieces, and striking black-and-white contrasts that fill the rest of the cottage Coco shares with her husband, artist James Conran, just outside New York City.

Qualifying Potential Clients on the First Phone Call
Design Biz Blueprints
While it's exciting to get leads from your online listings, these leads are completely unqualified, and it's important to determine if they're a true potential client before offering a free visit for the potential project. The key to gathering all the information you need before deciding to meet with them is having a good new client interview template. Here are some tips on how to go about this.
Report: More Design Jobs Added in 2014
By Michael J. Berens
Employers hired 1,300 more interior designers between May 2013 and May 2014, bringing the total number of employed designers to 45,010, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. While far from peak employment — which reached 53,290 in 2008 — the number of employed designers is the highest since 2010.
How Scary Is Your Cash Flow?
Design Success University
Cash flow planning is scary if you don't do it regularly. A few designers lately have reported their cash flow is very low right now. There are many reasons for that trend.
