Crush the 'I'm Not Creative' Barrier
Harvard Business Review    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Did you know that if you think you are creative, you're more likely to actually be creative? This surprising fact pops up again and again in research. In the database of over 6,000 professionals who have taken the Innovator's DNA self & 360 assessments, people (entrepreneurs and managers alike) who "agree" with the survey statement "I am creative" consistently deliver disruptive solutions — by creating new businesses, products, services and processes that no one has done before. They see themselves as creative and act that way. More

Sneaking Into Pantone Headquarters
Slate    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
In an airy studio on a high floor of the London College of Fashion, featuring a long conference table, white walls and a view to an adjoining patio — where, a sign warns, bees are being kept — the hues you will see in two years are being divined by a pan-European group of colorists. "What do we say about blue?" asks David Shah, a British-born, Netherlands-based designer who heads the meeting on behalf of Pantone, the quietly ubiquitous American company that maintains color standards for publishers, designers and the fashion world. Designing for Health at Work
Contract    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Health has several dimensions: physical, mental and emotional. These dimensions are delicate and must work in balance for true health to be realized. Wherever we work, be it at home, in an office or a factory, on a construction site or in a hospital, our physical and emotional surroundings play an important role in our personal health. As designers of built environments that house businesses so dependent on people, we are increasingly appreciative of this holistic definition of health. More

Edible Pantone Color Swatches Make Choosing Paint Shades Much More Delicious
Digital Trends    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
When it comes to home renovation, choosing a new paint color for selected rooms can either be pretty enjoyable or a huge nightmare. For those who can care less about various shades of the same color, spending an hour comparing color swatches at your local Home Depot is rather annoying. What's the difference between all these shades anyway? They're only a percentage or two off in the red, blue and green scales or CMYK models, aren't they? More
