Tommy Hilfiger's Vibrant Miami Home
Architectural Digest
The great American graphic designer Milton Glaser once declared, "There are three responses to a piece of design — yes, no, and wow! Wow is the one to aim for." Tommy and Dee Hilfiger apparently endorse that notion. The fashion mogul and his wife have planted their flag on a glorious stretch of beachfront just north of Miami with a home defined by spectacular moments, whimsical flourishes, and astonishing coups de théâtre. In this case wow! might be an understatement.

Decorating With Vintage Phones
The Wall Street Journal
Quite literally a conversation piece, a vintage phone dials back to an era when household gadgets were made to last roughly forever. And today, when ineloquent, on-the-go texting rules our lives instead of civilized chatting on the horn, it pays to embrace these sturdy, corded contraptions. Not only do their Technicolor hues and resonant rings evoke less frenzied times, you can actually hear your caller clearly, and use your shoulder to hold their barbell-shaped handsets in place as you jot down info, or idly doodle.

As boys, Kevin Lane in Kansas City, Kansas, and Shev Rush in South Carolina were told the same thing by guidance counselors: You are not good enough in math to go into architecture.
