One of the biggest classic rock events in history will now take place over the coarse of two weekends this fall, as Coachella organizers are planning to expand their version of Woodstock even further. This October, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Neil Young and Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters will all play full sets as part of a new festival in the Southern California desert, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Thomas Wicker will serve as interim president and CEO of the Cherry Blossom Festival, its board of directors decided at a meeting.
Wicker, who is retired from Georgia Power Co., will replace Jake Ferro, who was asked to resign Sept. 6. He had led the festival since October 2012. Ferro was fired after "he declined to resign," board member Bill Fickling III said after the meeting. Fickling's grandfather propagated and popularized the Yoshino cherry trees celebrated in Macon each spring.

The Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival is rated one of the largest tourism events on island, but the new members of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) believes that the festival is taking away too many resources from the $34 million annual budget allocated to that organization.
Newly-appointed Chairperson of the SLTB Agnes Francis has said that since assuming leadership of the board, members have been spending time trying to understand the operations, and while doing so, they have discovered that one third of the annual budget of the SLTB is allocated to the Jazz Festival alone, which puts a strain on finances left for marketing.
