The Cubs parade will be held on Nov. 4 a bleary-eyed Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Nov. 3.
The giant rally is expected to dwarf the ones that happily became almost old hat during the Bulls pair of three-peats during the 1990s.

Perhaps one of the most critical pieces of legislation to be enacted in the United States in many years, based upon its potential impact on how our festivals and events industry has — and must — do business, under current models, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will change, dramatically, how and how much you pay your employees, defined position responsibilities, and the long assumed "whatever it takes" positioning that is the foundation of our event and employee successes. While efforts to delay or stair-step its implementation are still a remote possibility (with the IFEA partnering with over 400 other associations to achieve one of those outcomes), the new FLSA rules become effective on Dec. 1 of this year and all U.S. employers will need to be ready to comply by that time. IFEA, together with IFEA member Hawley Troxell Legal Services, is offering a complimentary webinar on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Mountain Time) to help you prepare. Come join Brad Miller, Partner/Attorney and Jessica Pollack, Associate/Attorney with Hawley Troxell Legal Services, to understand what the new rules mean to you and how to be ready for the Dec. 1 compliance deadline. Click here to register for the webinar and/or join at special November Membership Discounts.

If we asked you to name some Australian music festivals, we have no doubt you'd be able to throw names at us all day. But what you may not be as familiar with is just how your favourite festivals, even iconic Australian cultural events, actually come into being. Sure, you're probably aware that Big Day Out actually started life as a Nirvana concert, but it's rare that you actually get to witness the birth of a game-changing new Australian music festival the way previous generations got to seemingly every couple of years.

Can advertising spark consumer interest in spending some bucks at Macy's over the coming weeks? How about advertising that leverages Macy's place in popular culture by celebrating the 90th anniversary of its Thanksgiving Day Parade, televised on NBC since 1952?
