Happy new year to all! It's time for our first New Jersey Chapter NADRA meeting of 2011! Please join us in starting a new year. We have so many things to look forward to in decking this year: new colors, new accessories, even more involvement from manufacturers and distributors, an organization that gets stronger and better with every new member and so much more! Deck season starts now! Yes, there may be snow on the ground. Mr. & Mrs. Homeowner may not be thinking of their brand new deck at this minute. However, planning starts now. Be ready when the weather breaks. Be ready for the phone to ring. It's time to be proactive in growing your business and that starts with your participation in your local NADRA Chapter. Trex Company enters into licensing partnership with CurveIt Trading Markets Share
Trex Company, a manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing products, announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Colorado-based CurveIt, to develop and market a solution for heating and bending Trex products on the job site. The company said the Trex CustomCurve Heating and Bending Solution offers Trex's professional partners yet another way to stay ahead of the curve - making it easier to create remarkable customized outdoor living spaces. One World Technologies of Anderson, S.C., is recalling Ryobi portable table saws with potentially misaligned saw blades, consumer safety regulators said. About 21,500 Ryobi RTS20 portable table saws were imported from China and sold nationwide from July 2010 through October 2010 and sold for about $200, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. Builders began work on more homes and the government boosted its investment in federal construction projects in November, marking a third straight monthly increase after a dismal summer. Construction spending increased 0.4 percent in November, the Commerce Department said this week. Borrowing by small U.S. businesses jumped in November to the highest level in more than two years, PayNet Inc. reported recently, as entrepreneurs invested in their businesses and did a better job of paying existing debts. The Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index, which measures the overall volume of financing to U.S. small businesses, rose 17 percent in November from a year earlier, PayNet said. U.S. economy grew at an annualized pace of 2.6 percent in the third quarter of 2010, slightly faster than the previous estimate of 2.5 percent, figures have shown. However, the rate was lower than expectations, with some analysts expecting a figure closer to 3 percent.
