NADRA Deck for a Soldier Update! NADRA 
With Memorial Day next week, we are excited to announce that two of our chapters will be hosting ribbon cutting ceremonies for their D4S builds! NADRA Executive Vice President Michael
Beaudry will be traveling to both ceremonies to personally thank each builder, volunteer and manufacturer for their tireless efforts.
We would like to send a special thank you to Screw Products in Western Washington for donating air miles to make this trip possible for Mike. The association does not have a travel budget, and without your support, we wouldn't have the opportunity to attend these special ribbon cuttings! NADRA Minnesota Chapter Deck for a Soldier ribbon cutting! Saturday, May 28 The Minnesota Chapter of NADRA is busy all week coordinating the build. If you would like to get an idea of what it takes, check out the Chapter's blog here to see the schedule and donating companies/builders. On Saturday, May 28 from noon to 4 p.m. in Prior Lake, Minn., there will be a party and celebration with Todd's family and friends. The event will be catered by Famous Dave's. All food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. If you haven't already donated to the general fund, please consider doing so to help offset these costs and provide a working budget for this chapter. The Western Washington Chapter of NADRA is also busy putting on the finishing touches of the soldiers deck! Chapter members are at the job site this very minute working on the build!
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 at 2 p.m., the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in Lacey, Wash. Famous Dave's BBQ and Red Hook Brew will be provided for all! May is Deck Safety Month®: Deck check This Old House Share    
May is National Deck Safety Month, and with barbecue season just around the corner, now's the time to take a closer look at the place where you'll host all your warm-weather gatherings.
According to the North American Deck and Railing Association, there's been an increase in the number of decks that have collapsed, fallen apart or otherwise failed. In most cases, simple upkeep could have prevented these incidents, which tend to happen (no surprise) when decks are packed with people. Make such an inspection an annual affair — it takes a few minutes — and fix any problems before inviting the gang over. Summer can't come soon enough for Patricia Feldner — and when it does, there's one place she's sure to be found. Feldner is looking forward to a second season on her backyard deck.
