NADRA
 NADRA members have started stepping up and taking charge to support their future, and thus there was no need to delay getting to work. Today, Nov. 7th, was a big first step in the right direction.
I attended the Live and Dead Load Subcommittee meeting of the American Society of Civil Engineers on behalf of NADRA. Sound boring? Wonder why it matters? Curious? You should be. This little meeting involved a lot of discussion about loads on guards and how you design, test, and build them. There was also a surprise that no one saw coming...one that definitely needed our immediate attention.

Now, though, the organization has decided to hire noted building code expert and frequent PDB contributor Glenn Mathewson to attend the upcoming code hearings, submit proposals on NADRA's behalf, and become part of the technical dialogue between competing interests that always surround code development.
