- NADRA Minnesota Chapter meeting — Success!
The meeting was a huge success — dinner was awesome. Thank you to our sponsor, Absolute Distribution!

Local members from The Deck Store, Bob Heidenreich and DecksDirect.com, Blair and Craig, presented a session on Low Voltage lighting, Craig had created several displays to show the differences between, LED light colors (temperature) and incandescent bulbs (old type). Blair explained the basic's of how these systems work and provided some tips on how to promote lighting as an add on to a deck sale. Bob spoke about the building and electric codes that govern these low voltage systems in Minnesota. We briefly spoke about metal rail bonding as it relates to the hot tub and lighting when used on a deck. We also discussed why GFCI are ineffective when low voltage transformers are used, and the risk of fire that can be caused. NADRA members input added to the importance of why we need to understand and mitigate the risks.
All in all, the meeting was a success! The next meeting for Minnesota will be announced in the weeks ahead. Thank you all who attended.

Last Christmas, the 17-member Halaburda family spent a large part of the holiday season outside, celebrating under the stars in the evenings. No they weren't in Cuba sipping mojitos, or even partying on the ski slopes in sub-zero gear. They were at Bear Mountain on a new deck designed by Wally Halaburda and built by his son Todd.
