NADRA
Thanksgiving is a time for joy and good cheer. On behalf of the entire board of directors and NADRA HQ, Happy Thanksgiving! In keeping with tradition, feel free to take a few minutes (or 18 minutes and 37 seconds to be exact) to sit back, relax and enjoy Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant!

Well, the Deck for a Hero® project here in Atlanta is complete and it was by all measures a huge success. The homeowners, Andy and Martha Cook and children, are thrilled. Overall, this was a straightforward build, maximizing square footage for the family and offering a wide stair design with a mid-landing and 90-degree turn, something that was very important to the family. Along with all the premium products donated for this deck build, we also were able to install an under deck system. Together, they now have almost 800 square feet of new outdoor living space!
I'm honored to have had the opportunity to lead this project and have to say thank you to everyone who was involved. Collectively, everyone who participated gave generously to make this project successful. You folks certainly made it easy and it was a lot more fun than work.

Building-Products
In a world where building product companies are manufacturing a wide variety of products, making a product stand out among competitors is a difficult feat for distributors. When the customer is flipping through one of the many catalog options to look for a specific product or holding a small sample, it is nearly impossible to make the product feel real or come to life. McCabe Lumber knew that they had to take their sales technique a step further in order to really grab the customer’s attention.

Decks continue to be a must-have option for new homes built in New England, according to the Census Bureau's Survey of Construction. Over 69 percent of homes built in the New England states in 2015 included a deck, compared to only 19 percent of new homes in the south Atlantic states. Nationwide, of the 714,500 single-family homes started in 2015, 23 percent included decks, compared to the 64 percent that included porches.

The sun sets sooner on your outdoor living space in the fall, but that shouldn't limit the hours you use your deck or patio. Adding low-voltage or solar outdoor lighting fixtures lets you party or relax well after dark. A combination of these two lighting types allows you to light deck railings and stairs, define the patio perimeter, illuminate the edges of paths and walkways and draw attention to a planter or tree.

Some of the most beneficial things a company can do for its workers revolve around the outdoor experience. On-site gyms, bike storage and locker rooms will improve a building's Fitwel score, but an office that encourages people to get outside between meetings or even take a walking meeting on a nearby trail is going to have healthier employees, says Leigh Stringer, a wellness design specialist and author of The Healthy Workplace.

Geoffrey James, contributing editor of Inc.com, writes: "Why are some people likable while others come off as grating? I discussed this question a while back with Michael St. Lawrence, co-author of the classic how-to sales book 'If You're Not Out Selling, You're Being Outsold.' Michael and I compared notes on the people we'd met in business (especially in sales but elsewhere, too) and discovered that they all seemed to follow the same seven rules.

Perspective is the way individuals see the world. It comes from their personal point of view and is shaped by life experiences, values, their current state of mind, the assumptions they bring into a situation and a whole lot of other things. Reality can be different things. We can easily say that my perspective is my reality. There is truth to that statement.
