OSHA issues final rule on electrical safety requirements

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently released its final rule on electric power generation, transmission and distribution, and electrical protective equipment. The final rule, scheduled to be published in the Federal Register, will update the decades-old construction standard for electric power line work to make it consistent with the similar general industry standard.

Proposed IgCC code changes available for review
International Code Council
The International Code Council has released a monograph of International Green Construction Code proposed code changes that will be considered during the Group C Committee Action Hearing. The hearing will present an opportunity for Code Council members and all code development stakeholders to voice opinions and offer expertise to ensure the 2015 IgCC will complement building safety codes while focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency in the built environment.

Google checks in to the hotel business

Google Inc. is moving boldly to play a larger role in booking hotel rooms — at the risk of offending some of its most important advertisers. Google is adding more photos and reviews to its hotel listings, so they increasingly resemble those of travel search sites. And it is more aggressively promoting its "hotel-price ads" that post room rates directly as travel-search sites do.
