In Advancing the American Agenda: How the Social Work Profession Will Help, NASW explains to the Trump Administration how social workers today have the right education, experience, and understanding of complex human needs to help solve the social concerns and challenges outlined in the transition document. NASW further addresses areas in which social workers can help the new administration and 115th Congress advance the American Agenda.
NASW opposes President Trump's executive order Protection of the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States over concerns the order acts as a de facto ban on Muslim immigrants and was enacted in an inhumane and insensitive manner.
Download your copy of the Standards and Indicators for Cultural Competence in Social Work Practice. These standards revisit the way the social work profession engages in "leadership to advance cultural competence" within the profession, human services, and society at large and challenge structural and institutional oppression.
