NASW CEO Angelo McClain Speaks on NASW's Response to Racial Crisis
NASW is working at the national and chapter levels to end racism in America. NASW chapters are hosting listening forums, webinars, and workshops on racism, and alerting members about opportunities to participate in racial injustice workshops and townhall discussions within their communities. In the coming weeks, NASW will initiate several activities to help the more than 800,000 social workers across the country to lead efforts in their communities to flatten the curve on racism. NASW's upcoming June 15-17 Virtual Conference includes a keynote by acclaimed author and CEO of Robin Hood Wes Moore on addressing systemic racism, as well as several breakout sessions with additional learning opportunities on the topic. On June 19, NASW will host a national discussion on racism for social workers, NASW Town Hall – The Other Pandemic: Racial Injustice (go to NASW's Facebook page on June 19).

NASW Social Work Talks Podcast
Pat Spencer, LCSW, talks about moving her practice to teletherapy during New Jersey's stay-at-home order. Part of the process, depending on the person or situation, includes helping clients get comfortable with telehealth. It also includes conversations about informed consent and maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Says Spencer, "Some of the conversations we had were, 'Where in your home or apartment would you be able to talk? Are there times of day that might be better than others? ... Maybe you want to talk with me out in your car?'"
