NATA Nomenclature Workgroup
to Study Name of Profession

The NATA Board of Directors has created a task force called the Nomenclature Workgroup 2012 to study the name of the profession. The strategic partners do not object to the NATA Board of Directors moving forward with exploring a name change. NCAA Funds Concussion Research

The NCAA is providing $400,000 to a group of researchers to study the effects of head injuries in both contact and non-contact sports in athletes over the course of their college careers. The National Sport Concussion Outcomes Study Consortium will be led by experts from the University of Michigan, the Medical College of Wisconsin, UCLA and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Vitamin D Means Fewer Fractures for Girls

Higher amounts of Vitamin D in the diet are associated with a lower risk for bone fractures in teenage girls, a new study has found. Researchers studied stress fractures in 6,712 girls ages 9 to 15 over a seven-year period. Almost 4 percent developed stress fractures, and 90 percent of those who did participated in at least an hour a day of high-impact physical activity, like basketball, running or volleyball. More
