'Losing is learning': Life lessons from an iconic Minneapolis basketball coach
Minnesota Public Radio
Longtime high school boys basketball coach Larry McKenzie was the first coach in Minnesota history to win four consecutive basketball state titles.
“I don't think I was a greatest X and O guy or any of that kind of stuff. The reason that I won was because I gave my kids unconditional love,” he said.
He retired in July, but he is still mentoring. Now, instead of leading high school athletes, he is coaching other coaches.

In the world of high school basketball in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area of the east coast, teams and players on Maryland's Eastern Shore often times go overlooked, cut off from the rest of the competition due to geography. Texas football coach on leave after students require medical attention from workout
Rockwall County Herald-Banner
Rockwall-Heath High School head football coach John Harrell was placed on administrative leave Monday after a number of students required medical attention, and in some cases hospitalization, following an eighth-period athletic class, according to a letter sent to parents by school Principal Todd Bradford.
Meanwhile, the school district is bringing in a third-party to investigate the matter, which apparently stems from forcing students to perform “multiple pushups,” according to the letter.

He decided that he would go everywhere in a full sprint so that he could get exercise along the way.'"

You may be experiencing exercise anxiety
Discover Magazine
Emilie Le Beau Lucchesi writes: "Swim class was a gym requirement when I was in high school in the 90s. We all dreaded wearing the required '50s style swimsuits — which were worn out, see-through, and worse, color-coded by size. They offered a commentary on our bodies at a time when we were already feeling self-critical."
