South Lyon head wrestling coach Zaq Makowski tried his best to inform parents and athletes the best he could, passing along information from the Michigan High School Athletic Association regarding guidelines to play during COVID-19.
Makowski had conversations with wrestlers on his roster, saying there is no pressure to join the team if they are uncomfortable with the surrounding climate.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick offered some unprompted praise for a high school football coach this week, in comments that weren’t surprising to anyone who has followed both coaches’ careers.
The coach was Kevin Kelley of Pulaski Academy in Little Rock. Belichick was talking about Chargers tight end Hunter Henry, whom the Patriots will face on Sunday, before shifting to a discussion of Kelley, who coached Henry in high school.

Report: The impact of COVID-19 on student achievement

Titled, “How Kids Are Performing: Tracking the Impact of COVID-19 on Reading and Mathematics Achievement,” the report was released by a leading education technology leader, Renaissance. It considers student assessments from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The results total over 5 million student assessments. The report touches upon all the aspects of learning issues and gaps and seeks to guide educators as they address learning gaps.

Even during a pandemic, everyone needs to be physically active, limit the amount of time they spend sitting and take every chance they can to get moving — even if it's just a little, the World Health Organization said.
In guidelines for people of all ages released Nov. 25, the WHO emphasized that "every type of movement counts" as people combat sedentary lifestyles, exacerbated by social distancing and the amount of time spent at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
