The last remaining coal-fired power station in the U.S. state of New Jersey has been demolished, with the facility’s owner committing to deploying large-scale energy storage at the site.
On Dec. 2, a crowd including climate and clean energy advocates gathered to watch the controlled implosion of Logan Generating Station in Swedesboro, in New Jersey’s south.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional team of construction professionals focused on Multifamily,
Senior, and Special Needs rental affordable housing projects throughout the State. The Division of Technical Services
works in concert with other divisions to ensure that projects financed by the Agency meet acceptable housing quality
standards and adhere to the Agency’s Multifamily and Supportive Housing Underwriting Program Guidelines and
Financing Policies, inclusive of design standards. The Technical Services Division staff is also responsible for reviewing
projects for cost effectiveness and Climate Adaptation. Under supervision of the Managing Architect, the Engineering
Specialist will review engineering related documents and provide comments; provide feedback on change order reviews;
conduct site visits when necessary and submit clear and concise reports; assist in representing the HMFA on technical
matters related to the assigned project; provide project specific deliverables including feasibility studies, technical
investigation and resolution, and creation of technical documents; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Rail strike to be averted: President Joe Biden to sign bill

President Joe Biden is signing a bill Dec. 2 to avert a freight rail strike that he said could have plunged the U.S. into recession and interfered with the shipments of coal and other commodities.
The White House said that Biden would sign a measure passed Dec. 1 by the Senate and House that binds rail companies and workers to a proposed settlement that was reached between the rail companies and union leaders in September.
