Construction projects we can expect in NJ in 2022

From Jan. 6: As 2022 fast approaches a multitude of construction projects will soon begin across the Garden State that are expected to generate significant economic activity.
According to Jerry Keenan, president of the non-partisan New Jersey Alliance for Action, construction leaders are forecasting $32 billion in capital investments across the state in 2022 and 2023.

From Jan. 6: Of the 10 largest road and bridge projects on the state transportation department’s $2.47 billion docket in 2022, seven are ongoing mega projects that are joined by three new projects on busy local highways.
New projects on busy Routes 9, 27 and I-76 join other familiar highway and bridge projects statewide, said James Barry, an NJDOT spokesman.

From July. 6: The fund that helps bankroll New Jersey highway, bridge and transit projects are set to get a $600 million funding infusion.
The state Senate and Assembly voted to increase the Transportation Trust Fund’s spending limitation by $600 million to bring it to an intended annual levels of $2 billion by fiscal year 2024.

From July 20: Commuters might consider this the year of the station at NJ Transit for the number of projects included in $814 million allocated in the state’s fiscal year 2023 budget.
The additional funding comes from the New Jersey Debt Defeasance and Prevention Fund, created by legislation that adds $814 million to NJ Transit’s capital budget for specific projects.
