ACA Files Amicus Brief in West Virginia v. EPA Before the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals
In the case, the petitioners (West Virginia, et al.), are challenging a settlement agreement that committed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to propose limits on greenhouse gases from power plants. In its amicus, ACA argues that the rules violate express language in the Clean Air Act that prohibits double regulation of utilities.

Call for Papers: Coatings Regulations & Analytical Methods Conference
ACA is seeking submission of abstracts for its Coatings Regulations & Analytical Methods Conference, to be held May 19-20, 2015, in Cleveland, Ohio. Abstracts should provide the latest information on regulations affecting the coatings industry, testing methods, and new technology related to regulatory guidelines, and must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2015.
Manufacturing Jobs Continue to Decline as Share of all Employment
Manufacturing employment has recovered to some extent since the beginning of the recovery from the financial crisis of 2008. However, as Figure 1 demonstrates, the relative share of manufacturing employment has continued to decline from the peak of manufacturing employment in the late 1970s, when nearly 20 million Americans held jobs in manufacturing (the peak percentage in manufacturing actually occurred in 1943, during the massive wartime industrial mobilization, when nearly 40% of the population worked in manufacturing).
